It
takes time and
deep reflection for men to make
a single decision in their lives. As a result,
in church you find that they
occupy the topmost
seats. Surprisingly, you will
agree with me that they are the minority
in the church. The few whom
we believe in the church are either
the retired ‘wazees’, jobless, those who are on leave or
even those with troubles in their families and needs pastor’s
help. The question
is, where are the men in the house
of God? If you are keen, in the church
council you will find that the
bishops, reverends, pastors and other
officials are men. But in the congregation
the majority are women. Why the
gender inequality in church?
The problem in the church is that those old fellows are in charge of the committee in the church council. They make worldly laws and act like they are above them. When leaders make the church constitution they expect the worshipers to follow it to the later, but they do not do the same. In mathew23; 2-6, Jesus explains it very well that we have to listen to them, do what they tell us to do but should not follow what they do. Then I ask myself, can darkness lead the light? The leaders in the church should base their leadership in the word of God, A leader should be an example to the believers. It doesn’t matter the gender, but if the light does not shine in them, then they should not lead. A man whose destiny is darkness can only lead others to the darkness because his fate is darkness. On the other hand, those who has light can only in the same way emit light.
Men of great knowledge can only influence others to acquire the same. How can a class eight pupil teach a form, four student? How can he teach what he does not know? The same applies the word of God. In the beginning, there was the word and the word was with God, and the Word was God. Similarly, no way someone who does not know God will claim to know the word? If one talks of the word of God, then he speaks about Jesus Christ. When one denies Jesus, then he denies the word of God and then denies God himself.
Some “great” men claim to know God but deny all aspects associated with God. In case there is an open air crusade, they all have excuses not to avail themselves but wish us well as they leave. If they attend, they stay some distance away from the ground from where Christ is being proclaimed. When you ask one of them to give a testimony about the hope they have in Christ, they give lame excuses because they are never prepared. I believe that kind of leaders should be guided by knowing God.
