GOD'S VOICE

Its remains a mystery for the believers on when to hear the voice of God. Many are the times when we wonder if God speaks to us (I mean literally). You must have heard your spiritual leader say, God has spoken to me, or God gave me a revelation on this and that and so on. We also aspire to hear from the Lord and we go down on our knees to pray and at the end of the day no voice from heaven! I mean not at all. How then does God speak? Does it mean that we have lost the way?

I might not answer the questions as you expect, but I will provide a broad perspective on listening from the Lord. At the end of the discussion, you will be able to hear the voice of God. The basis of hearing from God knows Him. The more you know God, the more you will speak and reveal things into your life. In Proverbs 1:7, the Bible tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. When we partake of the portion of his knowledge, our lives get transformed, and we become wise in the ways of the Lord.

God has no specific way that he can speak. He can talk to you and me in many ways. God can talk to us through scriptures. The scriptures are God breathed. Whenever we read the scriptures, the spirit of the Lord can reveal some secrets to us. God speaks to those who seek to know more of Him by reading the scriptures.

Secondly, Godly counsel is very critical communicationtoolfor a Christian. Spiritual leaders play a very great role in our lives. We ought to seek the guidance of our spiritualfathersandmother”, of course with caution. Fellowships bring us closer to God because brethren have lots of time to interact as we encourage one another in the Lord. Christianity is not an individualistic pursuit but a communion of brethren for spiritual growth and maturity.

God can use circumstances that we find ourselves in, to speak to us. For instance, when you are stressed and within that mood of despair, desolate, anger, the humble voice of God reminds you how God loves you and how you are destined to happiness and greatness. God can speak through circumstances. He is not limited. He is a mighty God whom Elijah prayed and for 3 1/2 years there was no rain.

God can speak through visions and dreams. For example, God talked to Nebuchadnezzar showing him the view after which Daniel interpreted (through Godly wisdom) meant that his kingdom was coming to an end. The Lord spoke and still speaks through dreams and visions when He chooses so. In silence and solitude, you are can hear the voice of God. God wants us to take some time and spent with Him in silence, and we shall hear him speak to us.

Do we listen to what non-believers say or speak to us? God can speak through non-believers and deliver a message to you. It’s vital for us to relate well with our neighbors. God wants us to loves our brothers as a sign that we love Him. You never know, God may use the person least expect to deliver a message to you.
